DID YOU KNOW?

The dragon is a famous symbol to Ljubljana. The history of the iconic monster dates back to the Greek mythology of Jason and the Argonauts. It is said that Jason sailed up the Danube River, then the Sava and onto the Ljubljanica before ending the journey in the Adriatic Sea. On route they came across a lake that housed the Ljubljanan Dragon. There, Jason fought bravely against the beast before finally slaying it. And so the Dragon has become a symbol for the city.
